All those interested in applying for an MSF field mission need to complete a multi-stage application process at our organization.
Experienced staff members will outline the goals and tasks of the organization, as well as the living and working conditions in the field. Participation is mandatory if you would like to apply.
After attending an info event or webinar, applications may be submitted via a password-protected portal. Click through our self-assessment test to check whether you meet all the requirements. If this is the case, we look forward to receiving your application three to six months before you are available.
Within one month after receipt of your application has been confirmed, the MSF Austria recruitment team will contact you. All applicants will be contacted.
Our selection procedure includes an interview, as well as further individual and group assignments. Applicants for the non-medical field are required to pass a technical test beforehand.
After successful completion of the Assessment Centre, we will schedule your participation in a preparatory course, where you will receive general, practical insight into our work and an in-depth overview of the structures and processes of MSF as an international, humanitarian organisation.
Depending on the needs and demands of the various field missions, we will start looking for the right placement for you. This process may take a little longer if you are going on a field mission for the very first time. Once you have accepted the position offered, preparations for your departure (visa, vaccinations, briefings, etc.) will start.
After completing the required orientation briefing, you’re good to go!
