In dieser verantwortungsvollen und vielfältigen Position sind Sie sowohl fachlich wie persönlich eine kompetente und erfahrene Ansprechperson im Bereich Finanz- und Rechnungswesen für Ärzte ohne Grenzen Österreich sowie Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) International und unterstützen die Bilanzbuchhalterin.

Ihre Aufgaben

  • Durchführung der Kreditorenbuchhaltung und Anlagenbuchhaltung
  • Durchführung des Zahlungsverkehrs
  • Durchführung der laufenden Salden- und Kontenabstimmungen
  • Intercompany-Verrechnung an Schwestergesellschaften
  • Monatliches Cash Netting

Ihre Qualifikationen

  • Abgeschlossene kaufmännische Ausbildung
  • Mehrjährige und umfassende Berufserfahrung in der Buchhaltung, vorzugsweise in einem internationalen Umfeld
  • Sehr gute Office365 Kenntnisse mit Schwerpunkt Excel werden vorausgesetzt
  • Solide Erfahrung mit Sage oder ähnlichen ERP Systemen
  • Ausgezeichnete Deutsch- und Englisch-Kenntnisse
  • Hohes Maß an Genauigkeit, Eigenständigkeit, Flexibilität und Belastbarkeit
  • Kommunikationsstärke, Teamgeist und Freude am Umgang mit Menschen
  • Interesse für internationale humanitäre Themen und Begeisterung für die Werte und Prinzipien von Ärzte ohne Grenzen

Director of the Vienna Evaluation Unit and Programmes (f/m/d)
fulltime, indefinite contract starting May1st, 2021, based in Vienna

Ärzte ohne Grenzen / Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Austria was established as a registered Austrian association in 1994 and is located in Vienna. MSF Austria is one of more than 25 sections in the MSF movement. The organization’s primary objective is to support MSF’s global medical and humanitarian mission. This is done through building a strong public voice on humanitarian and medical issues, generating financial resources to fund operational activities and generating human resources for operational activities. Moreover, we support the quality, effectiveness and efficiency in MSF´s operational activities by providing direct contributions in several areas:

The Vienna Evaluation Unit (VEU) today is one of few entities in the MSF movement exclusively dedicated to evaluations and other reviews. Since more than 10 years it manages and conducts different types of reviews, learning exercises and evaluations on all levels (project, transversal, organisational etc). It also has a focus on anthropological studies. Besides direct evaluation work, the unit aims to develop evaluation capacities through training and exchange of experience, and to promote a network of evaluators in the MSF movement. Today the VEU offers its services to all the MSF movement, with particularly close cooperation
with the operational centres in Geneva (OCG) and Barcelona (OCBA), and contributes to the inter-sectional MSF evaluation group.

The Satellite Imagery Pole in MSF-AT is part of the MSF-wide GIS Centre and, together with partners in academia and the private sector in Austria, provides satellite imagery and remote sensing analysis for the whole movement. We are also responsible for managing operationally relevant research on remote imagery for the whole moving, ensuring cutting edge innovation for operations.

MSF-AT contributes directly to learning and development (L&D) in the operational centre (OC) Geneva as well as the rest of the MSF movement with a growing strategic focus on digital learning solutions.
The Vienna Operational Communications Unit (OpsComms) is the MSF focal point for the development and support of field communications staff and for intersectional initiatives of improvement of practices and learning in field communications.

Your responsibilities

  • Directly manage and guide the VEU team (5 persons) and the leads of the other programme areas (3).
  • Strategically develop the VEU to contribute to learning and accountability in the MSF movement in the most effective and relevant way.
  • Position the VEU as a centre of competence within the MSF movement and promote utilisation and follow up of evaluations/reviews and their results as inherent part of MSF operations.
  • Oversee the management of evaluations and ensure highest level of quality of methodologies and processes of all evaluations and reviews.
  • Position MSF-AT as a centre of competence within the MSF movement regarding L&D, OpsComms and remote sensing.
  • Develop strategic and close partnerships in the overall field of operational support and develop MSF-AT strategic positioning in terms of operational contributions in the overall MSF-movement, ensuring relevance, comparative advantage and efficiency.
  • Strategically develop the support offer to contribute to learning and accountability in the MSF movement in the most effective and relevant way and under consideration of well-established partnerships, ensuring synergies between the different MSF-AT areas of support to MSF.
  • Network and collaborate with key stakeholders and resource persons inside and outside MSF in the fields of evaluation, learning, accountability and remote sensing.
  • Lead planetary health agenda in MSF-AT including guiding a cross-office green-team.
  • Stay close to and understand MSF operational needs (e.g. through short missions).
  • Actively participate in MSF-AT management team.

Your qualifications

  • Extensive experience in the international humanitarian sector; experience with MSF is an advantage
  • A strong commitment to the humanitarian principles, ideas, values, and goals of MSF
  • Several years of leadership and managerial experience in complex settings
  • Extensive expertise and experience in managing and conducting evaluations
  • Expertise in advising in the field of evaluations and reviews
  • Knowledge of a wide range of evaluation designs and methods
  • Expertise in the medical field or public health is a strong advantage
  • Excellent communication, representation, and networking skills
  • High level of analytical and strategic skills
  • Excellent level of English required; excellent level of French is preferred
  • Working erratic hours and frequent travelling in Europe may be necessary
